Combining Structure Search with Text Search
Here we perform a search for a simple chemical structure and benzene.
Note that the diagram is connected to the search term via the Boolean operator 'AND'. Using 'Booleans' can help you to find the exact information you require faster and more easily by focusing a search in the following ways:
AND retrieves only those records that contain both items, thus helping to make a search more specific.
NOT also serves to narrow a search by retrieving records containing only the first item, and excluding records containing the second term.
OR retrieves records containing either or both of the items, and thus broadens a search.
Using Booleans effectively will greatly improve your search results, especially by helping to make the results far more specific.
