Navigating
the Database
The interface for the CRC Polymers: A Property
Database has been designed to enable quick and
easy access to all the data within the Database. The
Menu section of the interface enables you to navigate
(Table of Contents) and search (Search) the database,
contact CRC Press (‘Contact Us’), view the Help file
(‘Help’),and return to the front page of Polymers: A
Property Database (‘Home’).

Browsing the Table
of Contents
To browse the database select the Table of Contents
option from the Menu. The Table of Contents contains
a listing of over seventy polymer groups, within which
individual polymers are listed and browseable.
The Table of Contents is based on the Windows Explorer
standard, which uses plus signs 
to denote closed folders, and a minus sign 
to denote an open folder.
When you click on the
sign next to a polymer group, the individual polymers
are displayed below as hypertext links which open the
documents associated with the polymers. Note that you
are not required to double-click on an item to open
it. You will only need to click once on the item. When
you choose an item, it is displayed in a new window.

Browsing
Polymer Entries
When you have selected an individual polymer from the
Table of Contents it is displayed in
a new window which is split into two panes. On the left-hand
side is a hypertext menu list of the data available
in the polymer entry (for example ‘General Properties’,
Volumetric & Calorimetric Properties’, ‘Surface
Properties and Solubility’, ‘Transport Properties’,
Mechanical Properties’, Electrical Properties’, Stability
Properties’, Applications & Commercial Products’,
and ‘References’). To view a menu item click on the
relevant link and the data will appear in the right-hand
pane.

Printing
Property Entries
You can print single polymer entries by selecting it
from the Table of Contents and then clicking on the
‘Printable Version…’ hyperlink at the top right-hand
side of the window. A new window will load. Select the
print option in your browser.
